Bullying In Schools

Bullying in schools has received a tremendous amount of publicity in recent years. In 2007, Delaware’s General Assembly enacted legislation called the “School Bullying Prevention Act.” The purpose of this law is ensure that students have the opportunity to learn in a safe environment. To accomplish this goal, School Districts are required to establish a bullying prevention policy, and the schools are required to implement this policy. Despite good intentions, an anti-bullying law doesn’t work if school officials turn a deaf ear on complaints from parents and students of acts of bullying.
